Monterosso, 17 March – After reading so much about the devastation of the five towns from the deluge received last November, Gianni and Mario were pleased to find that Cinque Terre is ready for business. We spent several days going to each of the towns to assess the damage. We can report that apart from Vernazza which was particularly affected by the mudslides the other towns will be ready for our first tour to Cinque Terre in May.
There is a hub of activity to get the towns prepared to accept the flood of tourists during the Italian Easter holiday period. Hotel staff, restaurant owners and local residents that we spoke to are confident that Cinque Terre will fully recover from the effects of that freak storm they received last year. On what we have seen we are happy to take our travellers through this amazing part of Italyon our Cinque Terre tours in May and September.
