Italy 10 April – Le Marche Wines featured heavily in food and wine magazine Gambero Rosso’s famous annual wine guide Vini d’Italia (Italian Wines). Eighteen of the magazines much coverted ‘Tre Bichieri’ awards for Italy’s finest wines went to wine producers from LeMarche. Le Marche wine producer Umani Ronchi also took out the award for Italy’s best white wine for their Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore “Casal di Serra Vigne Vecchie” 2009.
Gambero Rosso is Italy’s pre eminent wine annual. 2012 is the 25 eddition of the magazine and it contains reviews of approximately 20,000 wines from 2,300 wineries. The wines are rated based on bicchieri or glasses with three glasses being the highest rating a wine may receive.
