No visit to Milan would be complete without marvelling at the grandeur of the Duomo di Milano. Marvel at Leonardo da Vinci’s – The Last Supper
Leonardo da Vinci’s “Last Supper” is one of the most renowned works of art in the world. Painted between 1495 and 1498, this iconic mural resides in the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie . The painting captures the dramatic moment when Jesus announces that one of his disciples will betray him, encapsulating a wide range of human emotions and reactions among the twelve apostles. The work is lauded for its intricate details, such as the realistic portrayal of human expressions and the use of linear perspective, which draws viewers into the scene. Each apostle is depicted with distinct features and gestures, contributing to the narrative’s dynamism and tension.
Due to its fragile state, access to the painting is highly regulated, so it is advisable to book tickets well in advance.

One of our go to places when we bring our small groups of travellers to Milano is the traditional trattoria Il Cantinone. It is one of the oldest in the city and showcases the classic dishes of Milanese cuisine. We almost always have the creamy Saffron Risotto with Osso Buco which is really delicious and pair it with a glass of local sparkling red wine called Bonarda. Buon appetito!
